Answered Prayer 4/3/08 |

|
I was sitting in my Dining Room where I do lots of prayer and study of the Word of God very early in the mornings this is my favorite time of the day I call it my God time, looking back on the last week I am so reminded of answered prayers especially a prayer that I have been praying very strong for the last ten years. It is just all about my best friend growing up “Katy Hudson” we both grew up in East Jackson and we are proud of it. Our friendship took us through High School and remained close over the years. There were times our fathers Joe Hudson and Rev. H. V. Hodge would try and separate us because sometimes we had a hard time staying focused on school work and participating in family matters. We were not bad girls just mischievous. I look back now and realize we didn’t get into drugs and things that are so open to young people today. We sure loved to ride around the fast food restaurants just looking for a crowd of young people and also that Mr. Right. We both married very young she was my Maid of Honor and I was also hers. Both our lives took different roads and we didn’t get together much through the years but she always remained in my heart and my best friend that was a treasure that could never be taken away. Occasionally we would talk or just have lunch. We have watched lots of our friends and people in our past leave this world through sickness and/or accidents which took their lives. Ten years ago this Fall I answered a call from God a relationship and a covenant with God that made me say, “God I just surrender everything to you and only desire to be in your perfect will. At that time I didn’t realize I had been born into a royal family, the seed of Abraham passed down from Harold and Katherine Hodge. I ran from my calling for many years. I always felt I had never let my light shine before my friend Katy. My brother also ran from his calling and was an alcoholic for 20 years but my parents never quit praying for him even when it looked hopeless to this world. I asked my Dad one day before I had totally surrendered everything to God if he thought there was any hope for my brother, he looked me straight in the face and said, “If I didn’t believe that, I would never pray another prayer, never attend another church service, never preach another message.” I have also fought a battle with my own daughter but know I will also see her in God’s perfect will she too has a call on her life. Eight years ago I saw God deliver my brother from the torments of the addiction of alcohol. Ten years ago I had two prayers to see my brother back to God and preaching the gospel and he is a preaching machine leading many people to God. Then also to see my friend Katy saved, baptized, and have a relationship with God that I had found. God has answered both prayers. Just two weeks ago on Easter Sunday March 23, 2008 God spoke in my Spirit to go and bring her to the altar tears flowing from both of us, the Holy Spirit so strong she accepted a new relationship with Christ. After that Easter service dismissal Katy’s sister Brenda came to me and said, “I wish I had come down to the altar with Katy. I told her it was never too late she also accepted Christ. A year before this date I was called to Katy’s Mother’s bedside in the hospital, she was a very sick lady and told me she wanted to be baptized if she could get well enough to get out of the bed. I brought this prayer request to the church and after fasting and prayer God touched her and I was honored to baptize her with family and friends watching at a beautiful service at Faith Tabernacle church. Sunday March 30, 2008 I had the honor of baptizing my friend Katy along with her sister Brenda in the lovely Name of Jesus the spirit was so strong you just didn’t want to leave the water; it was a beautiful service with Mother, Husband, Son, Family and Friends present. God’s timing is not our timing so if you feel like He is not hearing your prayers never ever give up on your Miracle it can happen any time. My friend and I Now will share a relationship with Jesus Christ together the best is yet to come. Thank you Jesus, Pastor Marcie Hendrick
